A group class focusing on scene work,
monologues, play analysis, and improvisation.

A must for students wishing to pursue a career
in musical theatre. Students will learn basic
dance steps and voice technique together to
improve their over all appeal as performers.

Shakespeare in Bicentennial Park

It's Rage, Jealousy, Deceit and Murder.  It's Love, Ambintion, Magic & Humor.  Learn how to uncover the Passion of Shakespeare in this exhilarating summer camp.  A must for maturing young actors!  Includes a public performance in the park!

Mini Showplace Experience

The Mini Show Place Experience is back for its
second year! Now your child has the opportunity to
participate in this very unique day camp. Children
will “rehearse” for 5 days with Show Place Waitri
and then take over the Parlour for two nights! Minis
will be featured in duets, specialty songs, finales, and
of course during our famous announcements.


June 25th – July 1st

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What supplies and attire will I need for

class?

A: You should wear comfortable clothes and shoes (no flip flops) to Acting and Voice classes

and dancewear and dance shoes (jazz, ballet, or tap accordingly) to Dance class. Our dress code

is very relaxed; however each teacher may have specific requests for the dress code of his/her students

that he/she will discuss the first day of class. Your teacher will also instruct you on necessary

supplies the first day of class.

 

Q: Where are classes held?

A: Most classes are held in the Showplace Parlour and on the Surflight Stage, however

classes may be held in any space Surflight would regularly use for rehearsal, including the

Surflight lobby, Grey House Common Room, Ariel Feldman Rehearsal Platform, Surflight

Dressing Rooms, and The Show Place Dance Studio

 

Q: Do I need to register each semester?

A: Yes, you will need to register for each semester or session. You will receive a

e-registration form from your teacher the second to last week of class. Please fill it out and return

it the last week of class.

Q: How will I know if class is cancelled?

A: If there is inclement weather, you will receive a call from the program director canceling class.

For any cancelled classes we will hold a make-up class at the end of the semester.
