Shenandoah
John Davidson, star of TV, stage
and screen stars as Charlie Anderson, widowed patriarch of a
Shenandoah Valley farm family. As the Civil War breaks out,
Charlie struggles to keep his home and family unaffected. But
when his youngest son is taken prisoner, he leads most of his
family on a rescue mission. It becomes apparent that his refusal
to have his family involved is based on principal and not
cowardice voicing his belief that, like all wars, “the undertakers
are winning.” The country influenced score includes The Only
Home I Know, Why am I Me? and Next to Lovin’. This show
is both emotionally satisfying and musically delightful.
